A letter from the Ambassador of Romania to the State of Israel
Dear Israeli and foreign tourists,
Welcome to my country - Romania – a place which will enchant and captivate you with its beauties in every season of
the year, having 365 days available to explore this wonderful garden of the Carpathian Mountains.
Across nearly every sector, across all geographical regions, Romania’s tourism has been able to attract more and
more visitors in the past years from all around the world. It was the State of Israel that recently spurred a lot of growth
in tourism, more than 121.000 Israeli citizens visiting Romania during the year of 2014, hence placing Israel in the top
three of the foreign countries with the highest number of tourists in Romania.
Yet, in the spirit of our great and beautiful country, we continue to look forward and to invite even more Israeli
citizens to visit Romania in the years to arrive.
Several key initiatives are helping us to reach our goals in attracting more Israeli tourists, including Romania’s
continuous participation to the annual International Mediterranean Tourism Market in Israel, the great work of the
National Tourism Authority of Romania, as well as the dedicated work of the numerous Romanian and Israeli companies
which operate in the field of tourism. Most of all, each every one of you who ever visited Romania so far can represent a great ambassador of my country.
Looking ahead as part of our shared history and our strategic bilateral cooperation, we are developing exciting initiatives to promote some of the most
beautiful, and yet, undiscovered places in Romania, particularly when there had been increased interest in Romania and its exclusive regions (like
Turda Salt
Mines
- a distinctive and wonder of the world), placing my country’s touristic attractions in different tops and recommendations from all over the world.
Thus, dear Israeli and foreign tourists, please come and discover the rich culture and history of my country, explore the adventure, wildness and escapism
of its mountains, the unicity of the Danube Delta, the entertaining beaches of the Black Sea coast, the attractive city breaks in Bucharest, the well preserved
eco-tourism and delicious gastronomy, as well as the health and wellness tourism in Romania.
As we prepare to reach our 2015 goals, we will explore new and innovative ways to promote the beauties of Romania and we will be looking for
continued support to welcome more visitors and provide you with one-of-a-kind Romanian experience that will stay with you forever.
Sincerely yours,
Andreea Păstârnac
